Nosework (3)
Advanced Competition Nosework
In this class, teams will continue to strengthen their communication and practice working odor in a variety of situations. Searches may include containers, interiors, exteriors and vehicles, with exercises tailored to the abilities of the class and environmental conditions. Emphasis will be placed on improving efficiency, understanding odor movement and building confidence for both members of the team. ā Prerequisite: Teams have successfully completed their ORT and NW1 (NACSW) or Novice (AKC) or email training@runwilddogsports.com for placement help.
Nosework Foundations
This is our introductory Nosework class. In this 6-week class, teams will learn the foundational skills to enhance natural hunt drive, have fun, and learn about the sport of nosework. Dogs will be introduced to hunting situations with food but will also be introduced to odor in this class. Along with the instructor lecture, teams will take turns working one on one with the instructor. This class is great for any type of dog, regardless of breed, size or temperament. ā¹ļø If your dog needs special attention because of shyness, reactivity, or sensitivity, please contact us before signing up. Novice Competition Nosework
This course prepares teams for NW1/Novice trials by building on foundational skills. Students will learn start line routines, how to pass your ORT, and all NACSW/AKC elements (interiors, exteriors, containers, vehicles). Instructors will share trial insights and real-world experiences to prepare students for the competitive environment. ā Prerequisite: Intro to Nosework or equivalent and instructor permission.
