About

A monthly agility training series led by the Run Wild Agility instructor team, designed to help teams grow their skills, confidence, connection, and ring-readiness. Each month has a training theme for focused training to develop strong skills in each. Individual workshops, coaching days, instructor-led practices, and fun matches sessions can be added as facility dates and instructor availability allow. September is Course Confidence Month

Dominique Hellmich

Dominique is a fun-loving and engaging instructor. She teaches a variety of classes at Run Wild but her main passion is agility. She had great success in AKC with her Lab, Sophie, and has been on many big-show podiums with her Border Collie, Nova and Coolie, Cinder. Most recently, for 2026, she and her young Mudi, Chirp, were on the short list for the Agility World Championships Team selection.

Grace  Huffman

Grace Huffman

Over the past eight years in agility, Gracie Huffman has gone from backyard courses to competing on the world stage. Her training approach focuses on breaking down complex skills and concepts into manageable, easy-to-understand pieces for both dogs and handlers. Gracie has found success with dogs of many different breeds, sizes, and learning styles. Each dog has helped shape and expand her handling and teaching in unique ways.

Teeter: Training and Confidence Building

with Grace Huffman

This workshop focuses on helping dogs build confidence, clarity, and independence on the teeter. Teams will work on strengthening teeter performance, understanding criteria, building confidence through different approaches, and problem-solving common challenges so dogs can complete the teeter with more confidence and less handler support.

Crosses: Building Handler Confidence In Cross Mechanics

This workshop focuses on helping handlers feel more confident and clear when performing front crosses, rear crosses, and blind crosses. Teams will work on footwork, timing, position, and connection so handlers understand not just how to complete each cross, but when and why to use it to support the dog’s line with confidence.

Finding Risk Points on Course

This workshop focuses on helping handlers identify the places on course where mistakes are most likely to happen before they run. Teams will work on reading the dog’s line, spotting off-course options, recognizing where connection or commitment may break down, and building a plan to support the dog through those moments with more clarity and confidence.

Obstacle Independence & Confidence Building

Level: Novice, Intermediate, Master Did you know that the first step to distance or layering is individual obstacle independence and confidence? This workshop breaks down the necessary steps to truly build confidence on each piece of equipment. Helping you and your dog gain all the tools needed to build distance, layer and overall all confidence.

Running With Confidence

Level: Masters This workshop focuses on helping teams feel more prepared, connected, and confident when running sequences or full courses. Handlers will work on creating a clear plan, trusting their choices, supporting the dog’s line, and recovering smoothly from mistakes so both dog and handler can move through the course with more clarity, flow, and confidence.

Course Flow and Rhythm

Level: Intermediate, Masters This workshop focuses on helping teams move through coursework with smoother timing, clearer communication, and more natural flow. Handlers will work on reading the dog’s line, choosing handling that supports momentum, and finding the right balance between connection, commitment, and motion so the run feels less choppy and more confident from start to finish.

Masters UKI Coursework

Level: Masters, International This workshop focuses on helping advanced teams build confidence, clarity, and commitment through Masters-level UKI-style coursework. Teams will work through technical sequences that may include backsides, threadles, discriminations, layering, fast lines into tight turns, and challenging handling choices, with an emphasis on reading the dog’s line, giving timely information, and running with confidence under pressure.

Handling With Intention

Level: Master, International This workshop focuses on helping handlers make thoughtful, confident choices instead of reacting in the moment. Teams will work on understanding the dog’s line, choosing clear handling cues, moving with purpose, and supporting the course plan so each cue, step, and position helps the dog run with more clarity and confidence.

Speedlines For Confidence

Level: Novice, Intermediate, Master This workshop focuses on using fast, flowing lines to help teams build confidence, connection, and trust in their handling. Dogs will work on driving forward with purpose while handlers practice supporting the line, giving timely information, and maintaining clarity without over-handling or slowing the dog down.

Fast Lines Into Technical Lines

This workshop focuses on helping teams transition from speed into more technical handling with confidence and clarity. Handlers will work on recognizing when the dog needs earlier information, preparing for tighter turns or obstacle choices, and maintaining connection so the team can move from open, flowing lines into technical sections without rushing, over-handling, or losing confidence.

How To Maintain Connection To Build Confidence

This workshop focuses on helping teams use connection as a tool for building confidence throughout a course. Handlers will work on staying present, giving timely information, supporting the dog through uncertain moments, and reconnecting when needed so the dog feels clearer, more secure, and more confident from start to finish.
