Barn Hunt Advanced Competition β Trial Ready
β οΈPrerequisites: Instructor readiness recognition upon completion of Barn Hunt Foundations +/- Beginner Competition or Barn Hunt Lead Approval. This class is designed for more advanced teams, for teams actively competing or preparing to compete at the Senior and Master levels. This class focuses on strategy, efficiency, and higher-level problem solving. Dogs are challenged with more complex hides, increased difficulty in both problem solving and tunneling. Teams will work toward consistency at higher levels of competition with a focus on developing confidence with increased distance during the hunt as well as developing confidence in being able to clearly communicate when the course is clear of rats.
Barn Hunt Beginner Competition β Start the hunt
β οΈPrerequisites: Instructor readiness recognition upon completion of Barn Hunt Foundations or Barn Hunt Lead Approval. Beginner Competition class focuses on refining the teams skills in preparation for competition at the Novice and Open levels. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, course flow, and understanding trial expectations by developing a clear routine for before, during and after the hunt for both the dog and the handler. This class will have teams work through more complete runs while continuing to build consistency, focus, and clear communication. β οΈ Prereqs: Barn Hunt Foundations or Barn Hunt Lead Approval.
Barn Hunt For Fun - Just Enjoy the Hunt
β οΈ Prerequisite: Intro to Barn Hunt Lesson or Barn Hunt Lead Approval. Barn Hunt for Fun is a relaxed, mixed-level class designed for teams who want to enjoy the sport without a focus on competition. Dogs and handlers will build skills, gain experience, and most importantly, have fun working together in a supportive environment. This class is perfect for dogs who love to hunt and for handlers who want a lower-pressure way to stay engaged in the sport. Email Kelsey - barnhunt@runwilddogsports.com with questions.
Barn Hunt Foundations for Competition - Build the Hunt
β οΈ Prerequisites: Private Intro to Barn Hunt Lesson or Barn Hunt Lead Approval. Barn Hunt Foundations focuses on building confidence, drive, and clarity between dog and handler. Dogs are introduced to tunnels, climbing, and the early stages of hunting behavior while developing focus and enthusiasm for the game. Mixed Level Agility for Reactive Dogs
This is an agility coursework class which follows our Intro to Agility for Reactive Dogs class. Agility foundation work continues along with learning all other agility obstacles and handling maneuvers. The class will work one dog at a time in the agility arena. Prerequisites: Previous Reactive Rover training as well as Intro to Agility or other foundation. Please contact training@runwilddogsports.com.
Foundation Agility One β Start the Journey
Foundation Agility One is all about building the relationship between dogs and their handlers while introducing the fundamentals of agility. This class focuses on flatwork handling, teaching dogs to respond to physical cues, and building understanding of jumps, tunnels, and the foundation skills needed for contact equipment. Prereqs: Run Wild Sport Prep or Instructor Evaluation/Approval.
Foundation Agility Two β Build the Foundation
Building on the skills from Foundation Agility One, this class focuses on developing stronger commitment and independence to obstacles. Dogs are introduced to contact equipment including the dogwalk, teeter, and A-frame, while continuing to strengthen teamwork and understanding between dog and handler. Prereqs: Foundation Agility One and Run Wild Sport Prep or Instructor Evaluation/Approval.
Novice Agility β Grow as a Team
This class begins connecting skills into sequences through drills and short coursework designed to prepare teams for future competition. The focus is on developing teamwork, confidence, and consistency. Dogs do not need to be fully fluent on all equipment but should be comfortable performing 5β8 obstacle sequences. Prereqs: Foundation Agility One and Two.
Intermediate Agility β Find Your Flow
Intermediate Agility focuses on refining handling, timing, and creating smooth, connected lines on course. Through skills, drills, and longer sequences, teams build consistency and confidence while preparing for competition. Dogs should be familiar with jumps, tunnels, and contact equipment (teeter and weaves not required) and working through 10β12 obstacle sequences. Prereqs: Foundation Agility and Novice Agility.
Competition Agility β Chase the Dream
This class prepares teams for success in competition across venues such as AKC, CPE, ASCA, UKI, and NADAC. Emphasis is placed on advanced handling, course strategy, and execution on full courses. Dogs should be fluent on all agility equipment and ready to tackle Masters-level challenges with confidence. Prereqs: Foundation Agility, Novice Agility, and Intermediate Agility.
Advanced Skills & Coursework β Dream Bigger
Designed for teams ready to push beyond standard competition, this class focuses on advanced skills, complex sequencing, and exposure to a wider variety of course styles, including UKI-style and ISC-style challenges. Handlers will refine timing, commitment, and handling options while building toward more technical and demanding coursework. Prereqs: Competition Agility or Instructor Approval.
International Agility β Run Wild
This class focuses on international-style coursework and handling, preparing teams for UKI, ISC and other high-level competitive environments. Teams will work on advanced skills such as threadles, backsides, independence, and commitment while navigating fast, technical, and challenging courses. Prereqs: Competition Agility and/or Advanced Skills & Coursework, plus Instructor Approval.
