This 6-week is designed to prepare you for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® test. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds. In this class you and your pup will learn the foundational behaviors leading toward the Canine Good Citizen® test including sit, down, recalls, tolerance of handling, tolerance of strangers and more. This 4 week class is ideal for any new puppy. We will help build a solid foundation for your puppy that will last their entire lifetime. We will focus on engagement, relationship, socialization, and life skills. You will learn practical solutions to the challenges of puppyhood – including crate training and confinement, potty training, manners, problem prevention and other puppy related matters. This is not a skills/obedience class. We recommend that you take Companion Dog Manners or Performance Manners shortly after. This class also does not include “puppy playtime” - each puppy will be working with it's owner on all the fun activities. We require puppies to have started their vaccination cycle at least 7 days prior to the first class. This 4 week class has rolling admission. You pick and join any week that has an opening. Once you start, you have a reserved spot in that class for consecutive 4 weeks. If your puppy is over 16 weeks and you feel this is a more appropriate class for your dog based on its size, confidence level, mental maturity, etc., please contact us at training@runwilddogsports.com.

This is the basic manners course for puppies and dogs of all ages. We focus on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. This 6-week class is great for dogs of all ages, from puppies to adolescent dogs, or even older dogs that just need a refresher. This class is also perfect for dogs just getting settled in a new home and could use a reminder on their manners (or who may not have had any training previously). Topics will include: good manners, appropriate greetings, leash walking, and coming when called, etc. We will work on increasing duration, distance, and distraction. If your dog barks, lunges, or growls at people or dogs, your dog is not eligible for this group class, but may be suitable for Reactive Rover. This is a beginning manners class for dogs that plan to pursue dog sports and activities such as agility, rally, nosework, field work, barn hunt, etc. With an emphasis on engagement and focus, and dog learning to work enthusiastically with their handlers. This class is great for dogs of all ages, from puppies to adolescent dogs, or even older dogs. Topics will include foundation sport skills such as learning how to work at the handler’s side, an introduction to using targets and stations, toy and food play and using play as a reward and more. Plus all the basics like - sit, down, stay, coming when called. If your dog barks, lunges, or growls at people or dogs, your dog is not eligible for this group class, but may be suitable for Reactive Rover. Does your dog bark, lunge, growl, snap at, or pull towards other dogs while on walks? Does your dog suddenly stop being able to listen when another dog appears? This class is designed to help fix on-leash reactivity towards dogs when out and about in public and on walks. You will learn management skills, focus and attention techniques and other routines to help your dog be successful and walk more calmly when seeing other dogs. You will also learn to read dog body language, techniques for relaxation, and helping your dog perceive other dogs as something positive through counterconditioning and desensitization. This semi-private class is limited to just 4 dogs. The first class is lecture-only, so NO DOGS during the first class. Dogs with a bite history are not appropriate for this class.

Teach your dog to walk on a loose leash in this 4 week class! We will be covering fun games and practice scenarios to help teach your dog to walk nicely with you to prep for neighborhood walks, walking in a store, walking on a trail, and more! Reactive dogs (aka dogs who bark, lunge, or growl at other dogs) are not appropriate for this class. Special Equipment needed: Well-fitted harness (such as the Ruffwear Front Range or 2 Hounds Freedom Harness), collar, 4-6 ft leash (no flexi/extendable leads), a lot of pea-sized medium and high value treats (jerky treats or freeze dried meats work well)

Canine Good Citizen Prep is designed to prepare you for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their skills, teach their dog advanced behaviors and build reliability of existing behaviors at a distance and around distractions. Prerequisite is successful completion of one of our Manners classes or instructor approval. AKC registration is not required for the class or test, but would be required to receive the Title Certificate from AKC.

The 6 week Sports Prep class helps build the foundation skills necessary to advance into agility, flyball, obedience, rally or other dog sports. The class covers effective toy play techniques and food reinforcement to build and keep engagement. The reinforcement strategies will encourage both working close to the handler and moving away from the handler. We will work on training techniques such as shaping, targeting and chaining, shadow handling/circle work, and working on both sides of the handler. We will work on advanced sit/down stays, on and off-leash heeling, and recall skills with distractions. The class also covers strategies for managing arousal, focus, and understanding how to redirect dogs away from distractions. Prerequisite is successful completion of one of our Manners classes or instructor approval.

✅️Prerequisites: Instructor recommendation based on recognition of readiness upon completion of Barn Hunt Foundations +/- Beginner Competition or Barn Hunt Lead Approval. This class is designed for more advanced teams, for teams actively competing or preparing to compete at the Senior and Master levels. This class focuses on strategy, efficiency, and higher-level problem solving. Dogs are challenged with more complex hides, increased difficulty in both problem solving and tunneling. Teams will work toward consistency at higher levels of competition with a focus on developing confidence with increased distance during the hunt as well as developing confidence in being able to clearly communicate when the course is clear of rats.

Beginner Competition class focuses on refining the teams skills in preparation for competition at the Novice and Open levels. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, course flow, and understanding trial expectations by developing a clear routine for before, during and after the hunt for both the dog and the handler. This class will have teams work through more complete runs while continuing to build consistency, focus, and clear communication. ✅️ Prereqs: Barn Hunt Foundations or Barn Hunt Lead Approval.

Barn Hunt for Fun is a relaxed, mixed-level class designed for teams who want to enjoy the sport without a focus on competition. Dogs and handlers will build skills, gain experience, and most importantly, have fun working together in a supportive environment. Barn Hunt Foundations focuses on building confidence, drive, and clarity between dog and handler. Dogs are introduced to tunnels, climbing, and the early stages of hunting behavior while developing focus and enthusiasm for the game. In this class, teams will continue to strengthen their communication and practice working odor in a variety of situations. Searches may include containers, interiors, exteriors and vehicles, with exercises tailored to the abilities of the class and environmental conditions. Emphasis will be placed on improving efficiency, understanding odor movement and building confidence for both members of the team. ✅ Prerequisite: Teams have successfully completed their ORT and NW1 (NACSW) or Novice (AKC) or email training@runwilddogsports.com for placement help.

This class is for dogs of all levels, from teams just finished with their Intro class to more experienced search teams. Exercises and games will be adjusted to fit the experience levels of each team. Please note that only one dog will be working at a time, so dogs that are not currently working will be left in your car until their turn. Depending on class size and your continuity in the class, special requests may be accommodated for fine tuning your dog's skills in hide types and situations.

This is our introductory Nosework class. In this 6-week class, teams will learn the foundational skills to enhance natural hunt drive, have fun, and learn about the sport of nosework. Dogs will be introduced to hunting situations with food but will also be introduced to odor in this class. Along with the instructor lecture, teams will take turns working one on one with the instructor. This course prepares teams for NW1/Novice trials by building on foundational skills. Students will learn start line routines, how to pass your ORT, and all NACSW/AKC elements (interiors, exteriors, containers, vehicles). Instructors will share trial insights and real-world experiences to prepare students for the competitive environment. ✅ Prerequisite: Intro to Nosework or equivalent and instructor permission. Foundation Agility One is all about building the relationship between dogs and their handlers while introducing the fundamentals of agility. This class focuses on flatwork handling, teaching dogs to respond to physical cues, and building understanding of jumps, tunnels, and the foundation skills needed for contact equipment. Prereqs: Run Wild Sport Prep or Instructor Evaluation/Approval.

Building on the skills from Foundation Agility One, this class focuses on developing stronger commitment and independence to obstacles. Dogs are introduced to contact equipment including the dogwalk, teeter, and A-frame, while continuing to strengthen teamwork and understanding between dog and handler. Prereqs: Foundation Agility One and Run Wild Sport Prep or Instructor Evaluation/Approval.

This class begins connecting skills into sequences through drills and short coursework designed to prepare teams for future competition. The focus is on developing teamwork, confidence, and consistency. Dogs do not need to be fully fluent on all equipment but should be comfortable performing 5–8 obstacle sequences. Prereqs: Foundation Agility One and Two.

Intermediate Agility focuses on refining handling, timing, and creating smooth, connected lines on course. Through skills, drills, and longer sequences, teams build consistency and confidence while preparing for competition. Dogs should be familiar with jumps, tunnels, and contact equipment (teeter and weaves not required) and working through 10–12 obstacle sequences. Prereqs: Foundation Agility and Novice Agility.

This class prepares teams for success in competition across venues such as AKC, CPE, ASCA, UKI, and NADAC. Emphasis is placed on advanced handling, course strategy, and execution on full courses. Dogs should be fluent on all agility equipment and ready to tackle Masters-level challenges with confidence. Prereqs: Foundation Agility, Novice Agility, and Intermediate Agility.

Designed for teams ready to push beyond standard competition, this class focuses on advanced skills, complex sequencing, and exposure to a wider variety of course styles, including UKI-style and ISC-style challenges. Handlers will refine timing, commitment, and handling options while building toward more technical and demanding coursework. Prereqs: Competition Agility or Instructor Approval.

This class focuses on international-style coursework and handling, preparing teams for UKI, ISC and other high-level competitive environments. Teams will work on advanced skills such as threadles, backsides, independence, and commitment while navigating fast, technical, and challenging courses. Prereqs: Competition Agility and/or Advanced Skills & Coursework, plus Instructor Approval.

In this 6-week course, you will progress through the excellent rally skills including off-leash heeling, bypassing distractions, and tricks like backing up, jumps, and spins. This 6-week course will cover the exercises found in Novice, Intermediate or Advanced level Rally classes and prepare the team for competition at that level. Teams will progress to Off-Leash heeling as they are ready. ✅ Prerequisite: Introduction to Rally or instructor permission: training@runwilddogsports.com

Rally is a fun sport that combines elements of obedience and trick training while developing your dog’s focus and teamwork. Handlers guide their dogs through a numbered course of 10 – 20 stations, where dogs need to perform one skill or a combination of skills at each station before moving on. Obedience skills include turns, sit, down, stand, and stay. Novice Rally classes focus on the core skills of heeling, cueing, and maintaining engagement with your dog and will prepare you for Novice level competition challenges. ✅ Prerequisite: Manners class and Sports Prep or instructor permission: training@runwilddogsports.com

In this class you will learn foundation flatwork skills, basic throws and accuracy drills, a killer retrieve to hand, super speedy disc drops and recalls, and how to teach your dog to safely catch both rollers and flying discs. By the end of the 6-weeks teams will be ready to compete in Toss & Fetch league. This class is perfect for a team just starting out in disc (so tell your friends!), or for anyone wanting to improve their existing T&F skills (e.g. slow recall, dropping early, not catching the disc). This class is geared towards dogs or puppies that already have a desire to chase/grab/play with toys. Puppies over 6 months are welcome! ✅ Prerequisite: A manners class is helpful but not required.

This 4-week class combines our Reactive Rover methods - using barriers and one-at-a-time training - to introduce the basics of agility. Teams will learn foundation agility steps like wing wraps, target training, contact foundation for 2-on, 2-off and shadow handling along with introduction to jumps and tunnels. This is an agility coursework class which follows our Intro to Agility for Reactive Dogs class. Agility foundation work continues along with learning all other agility obstacles and handling maneuvers. The class will work one dog at a time in the agility arena.
